Enchanting Europe: Paris and Beyond

Nothing says ‘couple’s vacation’ as the city of love. Yes, I’m talking about Paris, Europe’s most famous romantic destination.

I recommend wandering hand in hand down the Seine at sunset while the Eiffel Tower shimmers in the distance. After that, have a romantic dinner in Montmartre.

Also, don’t forget to say hello to the Mona Lisa at the Louvre Museum. But be prepared for big crowds because it is one of the main attractions. You can also enjoy a leisurely picnic in the Luxembourg Gardens.

Paris is a year-round European destination; you don’t have to worry about the weather, because I can promise you that Paris’ cobblestone streets and cafés are beautiful even when it rains. Can you believe it?

Anyway, if you are a guy, I think your girl cannot be disappointed with a romantic vacation in Paris.

Ok, maybe only if she expected you to propose and you didn’t. That can be an oops!

Italy’s Amalfi Coast: Scenic Beauty and Italian Charm

If you haven’t heard of Italy’s Amalfi Coast, you should google it immediately.

This world-class location is known for its stunning cliffs and lovely towns such as Positano and Amalfi. You saw it on Instagram, for sure.

If you visit this romantic place during the summer, it will be a nice beach vacation. If not, there are plenty of things to do with your significant other throughout the rest of the year.

For example, strolling hand in hand in Positano, eating gelato, taking boat tours, eating gelato, capturing moments with the stunning cliffs as your backdrop, eating gelato… Did I mention eating gelato?

Just keep in mind that Italy’s Amalfi Coast is very crowded. So, for a more intimate experience, I recommend the shoulder season: late spring (May) or early fall (September to October).

In the evening, you can enjoy a candlelit romantic dinner at a clifftop restaurant. They serve fresh catch of the day with local wine.

Anyway, there will be plenty of romance, as the Italians are experts in this category. I mean, at least that’s what they say.

You know those Instagram photos of white facades and blue seas? Santorini and Oia. You’ll find them in Greece, one of the best vacation spots in Europe.

So, what should you do besides admiring one of the world’s most popular scenarios? Which, by the way, you can admire from the hot tubs at luxury resorts.

A romantic dinner at a famous tavern is a must.

Santorini and Oia are always very crowded, so I also suggest a romantic getaway. Where? To the quieter island of Naxos and its beautiful beaches.

If you want to enjoy Greek nightlife and live music, go to Mykonos, known as the “party island.” But it really is so much more: Top 10 Things to do in Mykonos: So Much More Than a Greek Party Island

And if your romantic vacation includes hiking, I recommend reconsidering, and if it still does, you will also find lush hiking trails here.

Exotic Escapades in Mexico

How about Tulum, Mexico? “Tulum” means “party” in Croatian, so I’m taking that as a good sign.

Imagine this: eco-chic beachfront cabanas that overlook the open turquoise Caribbean Sea.

You can have fun with sports activities, such as kayaking and scuba diving. Or explore the ancient Mayan ruins. Or just enjoy the white-sand beaches and laid-back atmosphere.

And for a truly beautiful experience, take a dip in the natural beauty: cenotes—sinkholes filled with crystal-clear water.

Finally, what would a romantic vacation be without a candlelit romantic dinner at a beachside restaurant?

Well, let the “tulum” begin.

I’m not sure about Americans, but here in Europe, New York is definitely the most popular destination on bucket lists.

For many of us, this world-class American city is more than just a city; it is something like a symbol of the realization of some of our childhood goals.

Anyway, once you’re there, let’s see what you can do.

Of course, the iconic hand-in-hand stroll in Central Park is a must-do. As the sun sets, I recommend visiting the Top of the Rock Observation Deck for unforgettable views.

When it comes to romantic dinners, a rooftop restaurant with a view of New York City, such as 230 Fifth, is excellent.

After that, I recommend walking hand in hand across the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. Consider attending a popular Broadway show or visiting some of the intimate jazz clubs.

I can already feel the chills. That’s called a romantic vacation to remember!

Does a romantic dinner at the bus station sound romantic to you? Well, in Savannah, it will. Don’t worry; I’ll explain.

Savannah, Georgia, is a romantic getaway with cobblestone streets and the air filled with the scent of magnolias.

I recommend a not-so-typical romantic dinner at The Grey, a restored bus station turned into a restaurant serving Southern flavors.

After that, take a moonlit walk along River Street, visit art galleries in the City Market and sip sweet tea on a charming porch.

Also, don’t forget to walk hand-in-hand beneath the interesting Spanish moss in Forsyth Park.

When the couple walks beneath it, they will always be happily in love. Just kidding, I just made that up, but you can walk under it anyway. It’s pretty interesting!

Southern California: Beachfront Bliss and Luxurious Spas

Ah, California, another iconic destination on many people’s bucket lists. At least here in Europe.

I recommend visiting the dramatic El Matador State Beach. It is located on the Pacific Ocean in Malibu and makes an ideal setting for a romantic picnic at sunset. I mean, your family and Instagram followers are waiting for photos, right?

Other highlights include a sunset dinner cruise, horseback riding with stunning views of the iconic Hollywood sign, and Temecula Valley’s hot air balloon rides.

When you’re tired of romance, I recommend a relaxing couple’s massage at The Ritz-Carlton while enjoying ocean views. Or visiting Glen Ivy Hot Springs with natural mud baths and rejuvenating treatments.

Have you noticed how Southern California effortlessly combines romance and relaxation?

Aloha! Has anyone ever thought that Hawaii could be a bad idea?

Stunning waterfalls, white-sand beaches, laid-back atmosphere, floral shirts and vibrant snorkeling spots—I would say Hawaii is for romantic couples who like a little adventure.

Anyway, each island has its own unique character. I recommend Oahu for nightlife, Maui for tranquil sunsets and beautiful landscapes, and the Big Island for volcanic beauty and adventure.

I also suggest visiting Akaka Falls State Park on the Big Island. You will be amazed by a 442-foot waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation.

Waikiki Beach in Oahu is also a good idea for sun, surfing lessons, and a lively nightlife.

For an unforgettable snorkeling experience, explore beautiful Hanauma Bay, known for its diverse marine life. And walk along the golden sands of Kaanapali Beach in Maui for the perfect colorful sunsets.

In Hawaii, you can feel a strong sense of connection to nature, so I recommend it if you want to truly unwind and recharge. But, of course, in a romantic way.

Are you looking for breathtaking red rock vistas and a peaceful atmosphere? I would say Arizona’s Sedona is for not-so-basic romantic couples.

I recommend going hand in hand through Cathedral Rock’s stunning trails and enjoying a sunset picnic at Airport Mesa.

Sedona is also known for its spiritual retreats. So I recommend couples’ massages and spa treatments while observing the vibrant scenery.

And now something truly romantic: Sedona has strict lighting rules that reduce light pollution, creating ideal conditions for stargazing. Popular spots like Airport Mesa and Bell Rock offer elevated views for a romantic evening under the stars.

So, let the magic begin.

Do you and your partner enjoy wine excursions and scenic vineyards? If so, you are an interesting couple who should consider Napa Valley in California.

Walk hand in hand through lush grapevines, stopping for tastings at vineyards such as the beautiful Domaine Carneros and V. Sattui. I also recommend a cozy picnic with gourmet treats.

You know what is also cool? A hot air balloon ride at sunrise.

I would say this romantic vacation could be like a good old Italian movie.

Just be careful with so much wine testing because the movie could shift from romance into comedy. Although that’s not necessarily a bad thing either.

Hidden Gems for a Unique Couples Retreat

Charleston, South Carolina: Historic Charm and Laid-Back Vibes

What about other romantic destinations that we don’t see so often on Instagram? For those who prefer fewer crowds, consider Charleston.

I recommend taking a walk hand in hand through the cobblestone streets and admiring the pastel homes of Rainbow Row.

For a bit of adventure, take a scenic boat ride to surrounding islands like Folly Beach and enjoy kayaking and snorkeling.

Also, don’t skip the Husk for shrimp and grits. You’ll love the restaurant’s well-known farm-to-table concept.

They say that nothing says “I love you” like a dish of food. Who knew that romance could be so delicious?

And now, something urban but authentic. New Orleans is a dynamic city that combines jazz, nightlife, and French influences.

I recommend walking through the historic French Quarter and admiring the beautiful balconies and colorful buildings.

For a romantic dinner, consider the iconic Café Amelie. It is nestled in a charming courtyard with lush greenery and serves Creole-inspired food.

Also, don’t miss the city’s legendary jazz scene. For an intimate live concert, I recommend Preservation Hall.

While dancing to live music, sample a traditional Sazerac cocktail. Did you know that it originated in New Orleans?

Also, take a nighttime walk along the Mississippi River. If you want to take it to the next level, plan a riverboat cruise while the city’s skyline shines in the night sky.

That’s true romance, isn’t it?

How to Choose Your Romantic Getaway

Traveling is one of the most wonderful gifts. I doubt your significant other would not love it. But how do you choose the perfect couple’s vacation?

I believe that it’s all about choosing a location that speaks to the interests and desires of both partners.

Imagine experiencing a peaceful sunset in Hawaii, having fun on a wine tour in Napa Valley, or dancing to jazz in the center of New Orleans.

These experiences not only strengthen relationships but also create wonderful and funny stories to tell at dinner parties for years to come. Or to keep it just for you two.

So, go on a romantic vacation together and let love be your tour guide. Okay, am I becoming too romantic now?
