There are times when the cold days of winter seem to drag on and on. When that happens, I dream of blue skies, warm sunshine, and golden beaches.

They’re the perfect remedy for a case of winter blues. If you need some sunshine, too, we’ve pulled together four of our favorite resorts where you’ll find sun-kissed beaches or warm desert skies.

Palm Springs: JW Marriott Desert Resort & Spa

Palm Springs is a desert oasis that draws sun-seekers from all over the country during winter. The JW Marriott Desert Resort & Spa is not far from this vibrant town. This desert icon has 884 guest rooms and multiple golf courses.

My favorite place at the resort is the Spa at Desert Springs, an impressive 38,000-square-foot space with an Aromatic Hammam, Finnish Sauna, Turkish Steam Room, and more. There is an extensive treatment menu.

I recommend their Desert Hot Stone massage. I also found the resort’s large pools, which have scenic views of the Santa Rosa Mountains, the perfect place to soak up the sun while enjoying the great outdoors.

Kauai: The Grand Hyatt Resort & Spa

Hawaii has many stunning resorts, but the Grand Hyatt Resort & Spa stands out with its lush gardens, pristine pools, saltwater lagoon, and oceanfront setting.

Located on the white sands of Poipu, on Kauai’s sunny south shore, the Grand Hyatt’s classic Hawaiian architecture and open courtyards invite you to enjoy the outdoors, making the most of the island’s excellent weather.

This Hawaiian resort is a family favorite. My children loved the meandering river and waterslide, and we all liked swimming in the large saltwater lagoon. At the Grand Hyatt Resort & Spa, you can often see sea turtles in the lagoon.

The Anara Spa is a must-visit; its open setting and lush flowers celebrate Kauai’s beauty. The spa uses traditional healing methods and island-fresh botanicals which smell so good that I had to purchase some to take home.

As my family has found, the Grand Hyatt Resort & Spa is a place you’ll want to visit again and again.

When you arrive in Key West, you quickly find that your worries seem to have been left behind. This is, after all, an island known for its carefree, live-and-let-live attitude.

The Reach Key West, Curio Collection by Hilton is a haven devoted to relaxation and rejuvenation.

Located on a beach in the southernmost tip of the US, this 150-room resort reflects the nautical origins of the Conch Republic, as Key West, Florida, is cheekily called.

With a spa, oceanfront pool, ocean pier, and many water sports, this Key West resort will cure your winter blues with its uncomplicated, no-shoes-required lifestyle.

Grand Cayman: The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa

Sometimes, all you need to unwind is to enjoy a tropical cocktail under the Caribbean sun.

At the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa, you can do just that at Seven Mile Beach’s only swim-up bar or alongside the island’s largest swimming pool.

This stunning 343-room luxury resort offers relaxation under the sway of palm trees and with the soothing sounds of the sea.

The full-service Hibiscus Spa highlights the resort’s wellness-forward approach with a wide menu of spa treatments and Reiki sessions by Reiki master Nadine Tonnis.

The resort is family-friendly and offers kids’ activities and various water sports. Others choose the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa for weddings, honeymoons, and anniversaries.

You can relax in your private beach cabana, take a sunset catamaran cruise, or have a romantic dinner on the beach with your sweetheart.

When it comes to escaping the winter blues, all it takes is a bit of planning to find the perfect getaway.

Whether you’re craving sun-soaked beaches, a tranquil desert escape, or a luxurious place to rest and recharge, these resorts provide the warmth and relaxation to chase away the winter chill.
