Yesterday, Disney Vacation Club celebrated the official opening of the first phase of the new cabins at The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, part of the Disney Vacation Club brand. Set in the woodlands of Walt Disney World Resort, these cozy cabins provide a relaxing retreat for all ages. Staying in these cabins allows guests to enjoy the comforts of home paired with the fun of vacationing in the great outdoors.

“The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are nestled right in the heart of such a beloved resort and will be the perfect place for our Disney Vacation Club Members to create new vacation memories,” said Bill Diercksen, senior vice president and general manager, Disney Vacation Club. “Providing families with new ways to experience the magic of Disney is at the core of everything we do, and we cannot wait to welcome our Members and Walt Disney World Resort guests to this special property.”

This new property is the 17th Disney Vacation Club resort. The unveiling was commemorated with a celebration in Pioneer Hall at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Diercksen spoke on the location’s rich history, followed by live entertainment inspired by the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue.

The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will continue to open in phases during the year and will feature over 250 new cabins. These new accommodations are part of improvement projects in the works at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground to enhance the visitor experience.

These new cabins were built with inspiration from the peaceful surroundings with a touch of Disney magic. Each offers floor-to-ceiling glass windows, charming original artwork, a private bedroom, a full kitchen, a living room, a dining area, a full bathroom, and an outdoor patio. The one-bedroom cabin comfortably sleeps six and dog-friendly cabins are also available.

Additionally, the cabins were built with sustainability in mind in support of The Walt Disney Company’s environmental goals. Each cabin was produced with less than one percent metal waste and was constructed to ensure that it preserved the natural beauty of the resort’s wilderness. Plus, each cabin features an on-site electric vehicle charging station.

On-site at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, members and guests can enjoy a wide range of family-friendly recreation options including equestrian trails, fishing, archery, poolside relaxing, and exceptional dining experiences. The resort is also just a short boat ride from the Magic Kingdom Park.
