If, like me, you enjoy waking up surrounded by natural wonders but also love the comfort of a king-size bed and a private bathroom, it’s time for a glamping experience.

I like it because it’s not just for experienced campers; it’s also for families, couples, and anyone else who wants to enjoy the outdoors without having to pitch a tent or sleep in a sleeping bag. I believe we, too, deserve the advantages of natural wonders.

Also, in this digital age, many people can work from anywhere. So this is an excellent method to connect with nature, improve mental health, and reduce stress. Just imagine working in a luxury tent surrounded by trees and sipping coffee on a private deck with spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains. Isn’t it much easier to work this way?

Glamping also allows you to mix outdoor activities like kayaking and horseback riding with posh amenities such as wellness and hot tubs.

From beautiful yurts in the Rockies to glamping tents in the African Sahara, it’s reinventing the traditional camping experience. And I love that!

So let’s take a look at some of the world’s best glamping sites.

1. Under Canvas, Yellowstone, USA

Did you know that Yellowstone was the world’s first national park, established in 1872? Waking up on its doorstep sounds amazing, but if you, like me, prefer a comfy bed and a private bathroom, I recommend Under Canvas. You’ll stay in a luxury tent with a king-sized bed, fine linens, wood-burning stoves, an en suite bathroom, and stunning views of Montana.

They do not have air conditioning, so keep this in mind during the summer. I think that some of the private tours are a little pricey, but that’s up to you. You can participate in activities such as private kayak group trips (about $99 per person), boat tours (approximately $800 for 1-6 people), and private hiking through stunning mountain views (around $1,500 for 1-2 people). Or you can enjoy stargazing directly from your safari-style tent for free.

But, yeah, Under Canvas will give you the thrill of camping with a nice touch of luxury.

2. Four Seasons Tented Camp, Golden Triangle, Thailand, Asia

I would say that Four Seasons Tented Camp in Thailand is the epitome of luxury camping. It’s an award-winning tented camp that feels like a luxury hotel. It looks beautiful with its ecological materials and natural greenery surroundings. Add exotic bird sounds and the delicate rustle of leaves as elephants roam close, and I feel we have found one of the world’s best glamping spots.

Its king-size beds and private en suite bathrooms make you feel right at home in the middle of natural wonders. I also recommend trying out new things like elephant encounters, guided jungle treks, and cooking lessons.

Fun fact: the Golden Triangle is famed for its long history of the opium trade. Don’t worry; it’s all in the past.

3. Longitude 131°, Uluru, Australia

Let’s go to Australia. But not just any place, but an amazing award-winning destination with a 5.0 rating on Tripadvisor. It’s called 131° longitude.

It is a luxury glamping destination located close to Uluru, in the Australian outback. It has luxury pavilions with stunning views of the iconic Uluru rock formation. Each glamping tent boasts its own private deck for a connection with the unique landscape.

As night falls, the Milky Way and Southern Cross emerge from the crystal-clear skies. So, if you want to learn more, I recommend booking stargazing excursions with qualified guides. Also, here’s something wonderful: Uluru appears to change color throughout the day. It can glow red, orange, or even purple, specifically during sunrise and sunset.

How? Because of how sunlight interacts with the iron-rich surface. Isn’t nature simply magical? No wonder this place has a 5.0 rating.

4. TreeHouse Point, Washington, United States of America, USA

Did you have a treehouse as a child? Perhaps it’s time to recreate those memories. But where? I recommend TreeHouse Point in Washington.

It is a unique getaway nestled among towering trees. However, these treehouses are certainly considerably more luxurious than the ones you had as children. The resort features warm interiors, private bathrooms, and stunning views.

You can go hiking, explore the lush forest, relax by the Snoqualmie River, or gather around fire pits in the evening to roast marshmallows and share stories under the stars. Because it is close to Snoqualmie Falls, I recommend that you do not miss the spectacular 268-foot waterfall.

Also, this glamping resort is a short drive from Seattle, just in case you start missing the benefits of city life.

5. Safari Luxury Tented Camps, Maasai Mara, Kenya, Africa

Let’s head to “Mother Africa,” the birthplace of humanity. It is home to the Big Five, Kilimanjaro, the Sahara, and the world’s longest river, the Nile. As a glamping destination here, I recommend Safari Luxury Tented Camps in Maasai Mara. It’s a luxury glamping spot in the heart of Africa.

This means you’ll be able to hear the sounds of the African nature while taking a pleasant outdoor shower. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to spot the “Big Five”—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros. I hope not a leopard or lion while taking an outdoor shower. Just kidding, no worries; safety measures are strictly followed there.

6. Big Sur Campground, California, USA

What about Highway 1 in California? If you like the idea, consider Big Sur Campground, located along California’s magnificent coastline. Its luxury canvas tents are nestled alongside the tranquil Big Sur River and towering redwoods. By the way, some of them can reach over 350 feet in height, putting them among the world’s tallest trees.

Anyway, while you’re here, I recommend kayaking on the neighboring Big Sur River and Pacific Ocean. You can kayak through breathtaking surroundings and meet playful otters or seals. Also, Big Sur is located on California Highway 1. It is generally referred to as one of the world’s most scenic roads, with spectacular natural wonders around every corner.

7. Orient Desert Camp, Morocco

Let’s see what you can expect from a glamping experience in the world’s largest hot desert. Sahara covers roughly 9.2 million square kilometers (3.6 million square miles). That’s around the size of the United States.

You will be surrounded by huge sand dunes that extend for miles. If that sounds interesting, discover Orient Desert Camp in Morocco. It combines adventure and luxury glamping with comfortable beds and en-suite bathrooms.

Staying in glamping tents in the traditional Moroccan style will allow you to learn more about the rich Bedouin culture. I also recommend stargazing since, due to its location away from city lights, the night sky is loaded with stars, planets, and, on occasion, the Milky Way.

Also, the camp often hosts traditional Moroccan music and dance performances. So, yeah, it will be a fantastic experience with lots of cultural elements.

8. Dunton Hot Springs, Colorado, USA

I don’t know about you, but there are few things that relax me more than a warm bath. If you add the view of natural wonders like the Rockies, I believe it is heaven for both body and soul. So, I strongly advise you to take Dunton Hot Springs into serious consideration.

This former ghost town now offers wellness, revitalizing treatments, plunge pools, and relaxing massages, as well as outdoor activities such as horseback riding. And just when you think it can’t get much cooler, the resort provides private cabins that are so stylish that you could forget you’re in the wilderness—until a deer walks by.

Just kidding, this glamping resort is a nice combination of mineral-rich hot springs and natural wonders. It’ll feel like nature’s warm hug. But you’re still primarily concerned with if there are ghosts in this former ghost town, right? Don’t worry; they’re all gone.

9. Sandat Glamping Tents, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

We must have spoiled ourselves, but now I’m dreaming about some glamping with a swimming pool. Sandat Glamping Tents in Ubud, Bali, is a one-of-a-kind blend of luxury and nature. Each glamping tent is carefully built to include beautiful interiors with traditional Balinese elements.

When you visit Bali, it’s great to immerse yourself in their way of life and culture. So I recommend taking yoga courses or visiting nearby Ubud attractions like the Sacred Monkey Forest and traditional Balinese shops.

You may also learn to prepare traditional Balinese foods, relax with spa services, or experience wonderful local cuisine at the on-site restaurant, which prioritizes farm-to-table freshness.

10. Camp Sarika by Amangiri, Utah, USA

Camp Sarika is a back-to-nature experience within its otherworldly 900-acre expanse of rugged mesas and vibrant rust-colored sands. It is nestled in the heart of Southern Utah’s desert. It has ten luxurious tented pavilions, each boasting a private pool.

I recommend hiking through the breathtaking ancient rock formations. Afterward, savor a delicious meal featuring locally sourced ingredients, energizing you for an afternoon of exploration.

Also, try your hand at rock climbing or horseback riding, feeling the thrill of the rugged terrain beneath you. If you seek tranquility, enjoy wellness and spa, which incorporates local herbs and healing rituals.

As dusk approaches, gather around the campfire with fellow adventurers, sharing stories under a blanket of stars. Be honest: when was the last time you did such a simple yet so important thing? I would say that’s precisely why we all need a glamping experience—now.
